Xperience Ai Marketing Solutions (XMS) is a digital marketing and AI solutions agency serving small and growing businesses throughout the United States and Europe. As we continue expanding our AI and automation capabilities, we are looking for a Junior Software Engineer – AI, Automation & Agentic Workflows with approximately 1–2 years of professional experience who wants to grow in software development, automation, AI integrations, and agentic systems. This position is more focused on programming, systems integration, automation, and AI workflows than traditional website development. We are looking for someone who enjoys building things, connecting systems, solving technical problems, experimenting with new technologies, and continuously learning as AI and software development evolve. Key Responsibilities - Develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software solutions, scripts, integrations, and internal tools. - Build and support automation workflows and agentic flows using platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and similar workflow automation tools. - Work with APIs, REST APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, JSON, MCP, and third-party SaaS integrations. - Connect and automate different business systems, applications, databases, AI models, and SaaS platforms. - Help design and implement AI agents, multi-step workflows, and AI-powered business processes. - Work with leading AI models and platforms, including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and other LLM providers. - Use AI development tools and coding agents such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, AI Studio environments, and other emerging AI coding tools. - Write and maintain code using applicable programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, and CSS. - Use Git and GitHub for version control, collaboration, documentation, code management, and deployment workflows. - Troubleshoot failed automations, API connections, authentication issues, data mapping problems, and workflow logic. - Work with structured data, including JSON, API responses, variables, conditions, loops, transformations, and data validation. - Test and improve workflow reliability, error handling, logging, and performance. - Assist with integrating AI models into existing systems and business workflows. - Research new tools, APIs, AI models, SaaS platforms, and automation technologies that may improve internal operations or client solutions. - Document workflows, integrations, technical processes, and important system logic. - Collaborate with other team members working in AI, software development, automation, digital marketing, SEO, and web development. Must-Have Qualifications • Approximately 1–2 years of professional software development, programming, automation, or related technical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience demonstrating strong practical ability. • Working knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python. • Good understanding of programming fundamentals, including: Variables and data types Functions Conditional logic Loops Arrays and objects Error handling Basic asynchronous programming concepts • Hands-on experience with Git and GitHub. • Experience working with APIs, webhooks, JSON, and third-party integrations. • Practical experience with at least one automation or workflow platform such as: n8n Make Zapier Or a similar automation platform • Practical experience using AI tools or LLMs for development, coding, debugging, research, automation, or professional workflows. • Familiarity with modern AI platforms such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or similar LLM providers. • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems independently and research possible solutions. • Ability to understand technical documentation in English. • A GitHub profile, portfolio, automation examples, software projects, or other examples of technical work you have personally completed. AI, Automation & Continuous Learning AI and automation are a core part of this position. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in learning how modern AI systems, coding agents, APIs, automation platforms, and agentic workflows can be used to build better software and business solutions. Technology in this area is changing quickly, so continuous learning is an ongoing requirement of the position. We expect our developers to: - Stay current with developments in AI, LLMs, coding agents, APIs, and automation technologies. - Experiment with new tools and development workflows. - Learn new platforms when a project requires them. - Use AI tools to improve coding speed, debugging, research, and problem-solving. - Understand the code and workflows they create rather than relying blindly on AI-generated outputs. - Test and validate AI-generated code before implementing it. - Learn from technical documentation and real-world experimentation. - Investigate problems independently before escalating them. - Continuously improve their programming and automation skills. We do not expect a junior engineer to already know every tool or platform. We do expect someone who is curious, technically capable, resourceful, and willing to learn quickly. The following experience is valuable but not required: - Experience building more advanced workflows in n8n. - Experience with multi-agent or agentic AI workflows. - Experience using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding tools. - Experience using APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or other LLM providers. - Familiarity with MCP servers and MCP integrations. - Experience working with OAuth, API keys, authentication, and permissions. - Experience with Node.js or backend development. - Basic database knowledge, including SQL or NoSQL databases. - Experience connecting SaaS applications through APIs. - Familiarity with cloud platforms or server environments. - Experience with CRM, marketing automation, analytics, or digital marketing technologies. - Experience deploying small applications, scripts, APIs, or internal tools. - Understanding of software testing, logging, monitoring, or error-handling practices.
